Thousands Enjoy CANADA 150 With Canada Lands Company

Posted On: 07/05/2017

Thousands of smiling happy families crowded into Castle Downs Park for the annual Canada Day extravaganza staged by The Castle Downs Community Association. This year Canada Lands Company and the Village At Griesbach were proud to be primary sponsors of Kids World in recognition of our nation’s 150th birthday party. This wonderful area, set aside for families with children of all ages, featured a wide range of fun activities & games for everyone with some great prizes and giveaways to be had.

Kids World was scheduled to open at noon and run until 4:00 pm, but the throngs of people arrived early and by 11:00 things had already started to heat up with peak crowds arriving from 1:00 to 3:00. Enthusiastic faces and big smiles were the order of the day in Kidz World which turned out to be a huge success with an estimated 4,500 people celebrating the Canada 150 celebrations on the grounds.

Kids World featured an excellent array of activities including two bouncy castles, face painters and glitter artists and balloon twisters. There were also games for children where they could win Canadian flags, hula hoops, bubble blowers, Canada tattoos and much more fun stuff including I LOVE The Village balloons. Treats included freshly made popcorn and cotton candy. And, Canada Lands Company was forward thinking enough to have lots of bottled ice water on hand as the temperatures soared into the high 20’s under a brief afternoon rain shower blew in about 4:00.

Canada Lands Company also staged an Enter To Win draw for two $250 RESP contributions. Parents were given entry forms at Kids World when their children played a game or visited one of the venues and could enter to win one of the two prizes by depositing a fully completed entry form at one of the show homes. Over a thousand entry forms were distributed. Winners will be announced after July 20th.

Bouncy castles and the kids games corner was a huge hit for all ages and the prizes were greatly appreciated and enjoyed by hundreds of children.

Delicious refreshments included popcorn & cotton candy, plus ice cold bottled water supplied by Canada Lands Company.

The Village’s wonderful 3D LOVE letters were a popular go-to location for family pictures and social media sharing.

Balloon twisters and tattoo artists were kept busy with the steady line-ups of enthusiastic children and their pensive parents.

Families enjoyed a special treat with FREE horse drawn wagon rides from the Castle Downs YMCA to Canada Lands Kids World location.

We would like to thank The Griesbach Community League and Canada Lands Company for making Canada Day 150 a truly amazing and fun experience for everyone in attendance.
