A Day of Remembrance

Every year on November 11th, Canadians pause in a moment of silence for the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peacekeeping. “The Village” honours their memory and sacrifice through legacy tributes, monuments, and memorial parks that we hope inspire future generations to come.

Village at Griesbach is developed on land that was formerly the Canadian Forces Base, with Canada Lands Company making it part of their commitment to recognize and honour Canada’s proud military heritage and contribution to global conflict resolution.

The Poppy
Each year, the Royal Canadian Legion takes part in the Poppy Campaign, providing poppies to the public and raising funds in support of Veterans and their families. By wearing a poppy, we support our countrymen who have lost their lives in battle and show our continued support for Canada’s Armed Forces. The Poppy should be worn during the Remembrance period, from the last Friday in October until November 11th.

Griesbach Remembrance Day Ceremony

Join us for a Remembrance Day ceremony at Patricia Central Plaza on Monday, November 11, 10:30 am to 11:30 am hosted by the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry.

The ceremony includes a reading of In Flander’s Fields, a prayer to the fallen and a moment of silence.

All members of the public are welcome.
