Village at Griesbach Welcomes STARS Lottery Home

Posted On: 16.01.12

Village at Griesbach is excited to announce we will host the 2016 STARS Lottery Home. This three bedroom, 2798 sq. ft. two storey home was built by master builder Concept Homes and opens January 15th for ticket sales and touring.

2016 marks the 23rd annual lottery for STARS Air Ambulance, with the 2015 lottery raising over $11 million dollars for the charity. This annual fund raiser assists STARS in paying operating costs for its three Alberta bases, with last year’s funds assisting the expansion of facilities enabling blood to be stored on board when the team is deployed to an emergency. Last year STARS transported almost 1,800 critically ill or severely injured people to hospitals, dispatching helicopters across Alberta almost four times a day.

About STARS

STARS offers time, hope and life-saving transport to critically ill and injured patients. Every day, STARS takes care of some of the sickest and most critically-injured patients in Western Canada. This translates to thousands of people every year who rely on STARS to get them to hospitals safely where they can access the advanced care they need. While in the air, these patients will receive the highest level of care available.

STARS is a charitable, non-profit organization, and the STARS Foundation is the fundraising arm of the organization. Funding is met through donations received from individuals, service groups, business and corporations, municipalities, and through collaborative agreements with provincial governments.

The incredible ongoing support of the community helps STARS continually enhance their innovative and leading-edge air medical programs and service.
